Massage
Swedish:
Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation,dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.
Therapeutic:
The process of applying various manual (hand) techniques to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and a form of connective tissue called fascia. These techniques include kneading, tapping, compression, vibration, rocking, friction, and the application of controlled pressure.
Aromatherapy:
Used as a healing technique for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, essential oils aid in relaxation, improve circulation, and help the healing of wounds. Specific essential oils are blended by the therapist and added to a carrier oil, such as almond oil, to be used during the massage. Each of the oils has its own unique characteristics and benefits.
Sports massage:
Alleviates the stress and tension which builds up in the body's soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Above all, it can help prevent those injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether one is an athlete, or a once a week jogger. This treatment is not just for the sports person: anyone can benefit from sports massage. Occupational, emotional and postural stress may produce many similar characteristics to sports injuries.
Reiki:
A healing approach that uses light touch from the practitioner to channel healing energy to the recipient. Used to relieve physical and emotional pain and to promote spiritual clarity.
Holistic Energy Work:
This session is based on the teachings of indigenous cultures. Smudging, charka balancing, guided mediation, and intuitive readings are just among some of the tools that are used.
